The PHASE 4 Learn and Earn Summer Employment Program is designed to help economically disadvantaged youth find summer employment. In 2015 we helped over 110 youth in the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County find summer employment.
Basic Components of the Program:
Program participants range in ages from 14-21. After acceptance into the program, participants receive 12 hours of work readiness training to prepare them for the workplace. When training is complete, participants are placed at job sites where they can work up to 25 hours a week. PHASE 4 Learning Center acts as a Learn and Earn Contractor, paying participants for the 12 hours of training and the job site work, and providing program participants with weekly bus passes to get to and from work. PHASE 4 Learning Center sends one of our employees to each work site weekly to check in on the program participants.
